Getting along

Dear Clover,5 years ago

My daughter is 4 years old. I got married 2 years ago and she was introduced into our new family 2 and 1/2 years ago. I also have a 4 year old step-daughter. My daughter and step-daughter do not get along well at all. They constantly fight and they say they hate each other. I know that they are only 4 and might grow out of it one day, but I honestly am at the end of my rope. They can hardly be in the same room with each other. Is there anything I can do to help them to get along?

Even though they are four I understand where you are coming from, try finding a common ground and expand on it,
Say they both like ponies, why not take them both to a farm to see the ponies and help them bond.
When they say they hate each other try to stop it. Get down to the two girls level and tell them in a firm but not angry voice that they should not say it because it is a bad thing to say,
Try nipping it in the bud before it gets out of hand

Best of luck,
Let me know how you get on
